About Gail

Gail Hagemann holds a BSc in Microbiology and Plant Scienes and a BSc (Honours) degree in Microbiology from Rhodes University, a Higher Education Diploma (Postgraduate) awarded by the University of South Africa and she completed a Management Development Programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. She is a registered Professional Natural Scientist with SACNASP.

Gail gained her initial experience in South Africa at the University of Pretoria‚Äôs Institute of Pathology Laboratory, followed by research at Rhodes University, being responsible for the Tissue Culture Laboratory. Thereafter, she enjoyed two tenures at Nampak R&D in Cape Town, with a teaching stint in between.  At Nampak R&D Gail occupied management positions as Head of Microbiology and latterly Head of Food and Beverage Technology Laboratories. In 2019, Gail chose to start her own consultancy service as she recognized that in the food and beverage industries the services of a skilled, rigorous and impartial scientist are often required at short notice.

Having done work in several countries, Gail is available to serve customers worldwide but specifically in sub-Saharan Africa.
